Post Labels Giving Me Fits

26 Aug

I’m not a computer genius, I’m not a computer idiot either, but getting the listing of labels for this profile to work correctly is driving me to pure distraction. Are the words “Wicca” and “Magic” politically incorrect Labels on this [Blogspot] website, automatically deleted from or miscounted in Label Listings? Is this a conspiracy against alternative religion?

Of course not; it’s ghosts in the machine. Gremlins, they’re called. I obviously need to perform an exorcism! Oh, don’t be surprised, the Catholic church did not invent exorcism; Christians actually didn’t invent anything new at all — they’ve been adopting, adapting and stealing local customs from the day Jesus died. There’s no better way to conquer your enemy than to absorb his customs (religous or non-religious) and call them your own. No pagan ever claimed Christians were not intelligent.

Blessed be.

There’s a great old movie from waaayy back in 1984 (that would be the year you were born) called “Gremlins,” and you’ve got to rent it. It’s a comedy and here’s what Netflix has to say about it: “When a man brings home an adorable creature from Chinatown as a Christmas present for his son Billy, the shopkeeper’s sage advice — no midnight snacks, no water, mood lighting only — goes unheeded. As a result, devilish green creatures with a million vices take over the small town on Christmas Eve. This 1980s hit was written by Chris Columbus and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Not recommended for your littlest monsters.” I could never explain Gremlins better than Columbus or Spielberg! Hugz!

    1) I was born in ’83. :-p

    2) I saw Gremlins during the “Blizzard of ’93,” I just thought it was some kind of computer term in this case. I thought you meant it was some kind of virtual critter that got into your computer and blocked certain info and stole other info, and that’s why I was wondering about it, b/c I didn’t want any Gremlins to get in my computer! 😀

Sorry, us old folk call program glitches that we can’t figure out the root cause of (but that we know aren’t caused by viruses) “gremlins” because they are vicious and devilish “creatures” like in the movie. Didn’t mean to alarm you! 😦
