Celtic Animal Birth Signs

1 Jan

Most people know their Sun birth sign, but few people know that there even is such a thing as a Celtic animal birth sign. Your Sun sign is also known as your zodiac sign and is based on the path of the sun across the heavens through the constellations that divide the ecliptic into twelve equal zones of celestial longitude. Quite a few people are also familiar with Chinese astrological signs (if only from paper placemats in Chinese restaurants) where months and years pass through a cycle of twelve animals that imply certain fortunes or misfortunes related to events occurring within those periods. I thought the beginning of a new year might be an auspicious time to learn about your Celtic birth sign and observe it’s influence in your life over the next year.

Well, at least we’re compatible. I’m a snake with an excellent memory and the ability to keep you from dying after I bite the crap outta ya! When I sneeze I say, “NA,” then you bless me by saying, “CHAIR,” but don’t ever try to sit on me. I’m happy to initiate you into whatever magical art I feel like, but you have to bring me baskets full of moonstones first, whereupon I’ll say ADDER boy!

To die from a bite from you would be all that anyone could ask for,,why would I want to go on…Kinda like being hit over the head with a junkyard refrigerator door…I see you recovered from your bout of Wicca-nog…………..

Thanks for the excellent resource tip. My first totem is the dragonfly and my second is the hummingbird. Dragonfly is ready to exit my life and I have been given signs that a new totem (or power) animal is going to enter my life as I continue my journey, but I have not yet met it. I have not had time to spirit quest because I am fighting one health concern after another; as soon as I complete my quest, I will certainly be eager to read in depth about my new guardian, teacher and friend.

    Hi Soy

The spelling “faery” and “faery realm” are interchangeable and mean the same thing; i.e., they are place names. When speaking of the inhabitants, the correct spelling is “fairy” or “faerie” with the plurals being “fairies” and “faeries,” respectively. Another collective term for these beings is “fae,” which is both singular (a fae) and plural (the fae). Hope this helps.

hmm… I am the seal and it disapoints me. I would have loved a stronger animal, but the descripton fits me perfectly so “blessed be the seal”!!!!
